About this tool
What does it do?
It parses XML documents into JSON objects with configurable attribute handling (ignore, prefix or @-wrap) — the bridge from SOAP, RSS, sitemaps and legacy exports into modern JSON tooling.
How to use it
- Paste XML and choose the attribute mode.
- Inspect how repeated elements became arrays.
- Copy JSON into diff, prettify or converters.
Examples
- Turning an RSS feed into JSON for a static-site build.
- Converting a Maven POM excerpt into comparable data.
- Parsing SVG metadata into scriptable form.
Important limitations
- Attributes vs elements is a judgment call — different modes give different JSON.
- Mixed content (text + tags interleaved) maps awkwardly; review by hand.
- Namespaces are typically dropped or flattened — confirm downstream needs.
Privacy
Local parsing. Exported documents stay in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Where did my attributes go?
Check the attribute mode — ignore mode drops them by design.
Why arrays of one?
Repeated elements always become arrays, even singly — normalize after.
Invalid XML?
A single unclosed tag fails the whole parse; validators point at the line.
