About this tool
What does it convert?
Arrays of flat JSON objects into CSV rows with a header line — the bridge from API responses to spreadsheets, databases and data tools. Nested structures get flattened with configurable paths.
How to use it
- Paste a JSON array and pick the columns to keep.
- Choose delimiter and quoting for your target (Excel vs Postgres differ).
- Download the .csv or copy it into your sheet.
Examples
- Turning a 500-record API response into an Excel-ready table.
- Extracting user emails and signup dates for a mail merge.
- Feeding JSON logs into a SQL COPY import.
Important limitations
- Deeply nested or ragged objects flatten awkwardly — normalize shape first.
- CSV has no types: dates and leading zeros need care on import (Excel vs text).
- Huge arrays (100k+ rows) are better handled by streaming scripts, not a browser tab.
Privacy
Conversion is local. API dumps often contain personal data — it never leaves your device.
Frequently asked questions
My CSV opens wrong in Excel?
Delimiter/locale mismatch: try semicolon for continental locales, and UTF-8 with BOM for special characters.
Nested objects?
Flattened with dot paths (address.city) or expanded — pick per column.
CSV back to JSON?
Split rows on the delimiter and zip with headers — or use a dedicated converter.
