About this tool
What does it do?
It parses YAML (Kubernetes manifests, CI configs, locale files) into strict JSON — typed, diffable and consumable by JSON-native tooling.
How to use it
- Paste YAML to receive validated JSON.
- Fix indentation errors flagged with positions.
- Use the JSON downstream in diffs and converters.
Examples
- Converting a docker-compose file for programmatic editing.
- Turning translation YAML into JSON for a JS bundle.
- Validating a CI pipeline before pushing.
Important limitations
- Tabs break YAML — spaces only, always.
- YAML 1.1 “truthy” words (yes/no/on/off) surprise newcomers; quote them.
- Anchors/aliases resolve on parse — the JSON shows expanded content.
Privacy
Local parsing. Pipeline and infra configs stay in your browser.

Tab or spaces?
Spaces. Always spaces. Configure your editor to enforce it.
Why is “yes” boolean?
YAML 1.1 legacy typing — quote it or use true/false explicitly.
Multi-document files?
Split on --- and convert each document separately.
